The first-night box
One box per person, so the first night in the new home is easy.
Movers sometimes arrive late, and finding sheets in box 47 at midnight is miserable. Pack a first-night box for each person and keep it with you.
What to pack
- Sheets, pillow and a towel
- Change of clothes and toiletries
- Medications
- Phone chargers
- Toilet paper, soap and paper towels
- Basic tools: screwdriver, box cutter, flashlight
- Snacks, water and paper plates
- Kids' favorite toys or pet food and bowls
